Ollie understands how difficult the transition from the military into ‘civvy’ street can be, but he also understands the importance of the skills and discipline veterans have gained during their military service.

“The transition from Military life to civilian life is definitely a hard one. Especially for men like myself who joined from school and stayed in until I was 30, as I had no experience in working in the civilian sector.
There are courses you can go on when you leave the military but unfortunately although you can receive civilian accredited certificates, most employers are looking for experience and that is something we as military personnel can struggle to get across to an employer.
I spent from 2002-2015 in the Royal Marines, most of my time being at 45 Commando in Arbroath, conducting a tour of Northern Ireland and three tours of Afghanistan.
On leaving the military I struggled to find employment so went on a short solo mission trip to Zambia and on return from this trip I got recognised and was offered employment in a Pupil Referral Unit. This was a good challenge but still after spending 2 years there I was struggling with the transition and made the decision to leave before it affected my mental health anymore and set up my own Personal Training business.
During this time Ollie offered some employment to me working with corporate organisations and the rest is history. I’m still here!
I feel like Break-Point is the only company I know off that is helping veterans but also using them to help others.”
